Okay, so as you all may know, Australia has been pretty naturally fucked up Lately. Half the country (WA) is on fire, the other half (QLD and VIC) are suffering from severe floods. Queensland was also recently struck by the worst cyclone recorded to hit Australia in over 100 years, cyclone Yasi.
Luckily, where I live (Blue mountains NSW) it’s pretty much impossible to have significant floods since… well…. I live on a mountain range. But we’re still going through a crazy heat wave right now. For 6/7 days of the past week the temperature has been 40 plus degrees C (which is 104+ degrees for all you Americans) and today it’s 38 degrees. Not fun :/ at all. Plus since Im surrounded by trees, Im praying that no idiot starts a fire.
So yeah, everyone out there please Spare a thought for Australia and even Better please donate to the QLD disaster appeal. People have lost their homes, members of their families and everything they’ve ever owned because of the floods and cyclone Yasi, and there’s just not enough money to rebuild it, even from Insurance and government grants there’s still a huge deficite.
